The A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Research and Development Lab, India’s First Indigenous Robotics and Electronics Product Development Center established in school, was inaugurated at Bharathidhasanar Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Arakkonam
The Inauguration was graced by:
Shri G.S. Ayyappan (Senior Scientist, CSIR-CSIO, Chennai).
Smt. Swarna Ramesh (Scientist G, CVRDE (DRDO), Avadi).
As part of this initiative, five robotics laboratories were also set up within the school, providing students with hands-on learning opportunities in robotics, electronics, automation, and product development.
Purpose & Impact:
→ The lab was envisioned to inspire young minds by providing real world exposure to STEM fields and cutting-edge technologies.
→ It serves as a hub for innovation, where students not only learn concepts but also apply them in real-world problem solving, product prototyping, and research collaborations.
→ By introducing Robotics, AI, and Automation at the school level, the initiative helps students build future ready skills, preparing them for careers in Science, Engineering, and Technology.
This center reflects Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s vision of a self-reliant India, nurturing a new generation of innovators capable of driving progress in education, industry, and society.
